Food4Kids
The Foodshelf operates a weekly Food4Kids market for students and staff at Putney Central School, offering an assortment of kid-friendly, nutritious, and easy to prepare food options, including fresh produce, rotating meal ingredients, and snacks.
Uniquely designed to reduce stigma to food access, the Food4Kids program encourages everyone to take part, empowers kids to make their own nutrition choices, and to explore a wider variety of foods. This program also serves as a bridge, connecting families to our main food pantry where they can access broader resources.
The Food4Kids program also provides free summer snacks for kids at the Putney Pool through support from local sponsors, including Oak Meadow, Putney Food Co-op, and Putney General Store.
The school year program is made possible through support from King Arthur Baking Co., the Turrell Fund, and the Vermont Foodbank.
